Winner of Eli's Cartoon Caption Contest No. 156

"I have to admit, this is the first resume we've gotten

                             that's written in iambic pentameter."

                                              (by John Platt)

My original caption: "But I'll be sure to get in touch with you if we ever have an opening for an immortal bard."

Wow, win number 16 for John Platt . . . and the record books show that his first victory was 'way back in Contest No. 4. Congratulations, John, it's my pleasure to let you know once again that you are one of the funniest people around.

Here are the other captions that I was seriously considering:

"Sorry, it's not to be. " (by Kelasher)

"Wherefore art thou's relevant experience?" (by Marc Eliot Stein)

"Well, Mr. Shakespeare, what experience do you have writing TV commercials?" (by Elliot Gemunder)

"Your co-workers just don't think you're fitting in the spirit of Casual Fridays." (by Anonymous)

"Now, William . . . regarding the hair and dress requirements . . . I think you doth protest too much!" (by Kay Ralph)

NOTE FOR CAPTIONEERS: A couple of newcomers submitted five captions to this contest, but unfortunately they sent them to the wrong posting. That is, instead of sending them to my posting headed "Eli's Cartoon Caption Contest No. 156", they sent them to two of my older postings. I received the captions, but it's not in my power to transfer them to the "Contest" posting, so I couldn't include them in the judging (a shame, because there were a couple of funny captions involved).

A new contest will begin soon, captioneers, so keep your pencils sharpened . . . and send those funny captions to the correct posting!

Wow, thanks!

Love it! Congrats John! What are the appropriate ways I could share this? The nonprofit I work for runs a networking group. This would be a great humorous graphic for our "Why You Can't Get That Job" topic coming up.
