As I recall this, my original drawing had the man behind the desk, asking this question of a woman. The cartoon editor (I think it was a woman) asked me to switch them around. I had no problem with the revision.
As I've said before, making partner is very important to attorneys in a law firm.
The catch-phrase was “Don't call me, I'll call you”. I just brought it up to date.
