I don’t have a tear sheet or a copy of the finished drawing of the above cartoon, which was bought by Nutrition Health Review in 1980. But I did find my first sketchy draft of the gag, so I’m posting that. I hope you can read the sign on the wall.
Confession: I don’t know what “antioxidant cuisine” is. But back in 1995, when I drew this cartoon, I must have thought it was pretty funny. And so must have the editors of Nutrition Health Review, who bought the cartoon and printed it in their publication.
Now I will go to Google and find out exactly what I forgot over the years.
That was 1986. These days, where in the world can you get a hospital room for a measly $365.00?
Explanation: This was published in 1984, when every state-of-the-art kitchen had to include a device called a “food processor”.
