Diversion, 1991

"Diversion" , a Hearst publication for physicians at leisure, bought this cartoon and, according to them, printed it in the July 1991 issue. At least that's what was noted on my original drawing when it was returned to me. I never saw a copy of that issue. Also, I don't know if "Diversion" is currently being published.  I Googled it, but got ambiguous answers, which to me means it's probably defunct.

Dartnell, 1992

When you see my hand-written caption, as above, it means that I wasn't able to get a copy of the printed cartoon from the publication. So what I'm posting is a duplicate of the cartoon, from my files.

Winner of Eli's Cartoon Caption Contest No. 48

"Aha! So what did you do with the digital voice recorder I purchased for you?!"

My original caption: "'Your wife is here, sir, and she's demanding equal time."

Congratulations again, Dom Mancino -- this makes two wins in a row, and your fifth win overall. You are truly one of the funniest people around.

I guess that error message ("Your submission has triggered the spam filter and will not be accepted.") prevented many captions from getting through. Sorry about that. -- we're still working very hard to solve the problem. Many thanks to all of you who tried, either successfully or unsuccessfully.

I guess I won't post a new Contest until the glitch is resolved.
