“I’ll take 10,000 dollars and you can keep those
photos from last years Christmas party.”
(by Ronn Roxx)
My original caption: “Well, I warned you it was a personal check.”
Congratulations, Ronn Roxx, on this, your fourth win. It’s a new year, and right now you’ve got a lock on being one of the funniest people around . . . in 2020!
Here are the other captions I was considering for top honors:
“You read it right, lady . . . hand over all your complimentary pens, toasters and calendars, in an unmarked bag . . . and no one gets hurt.” (by Kay Ralph)
“We have to stop meeting like this, I am running out of money.” (by Diane)
“I’ll take the first hundred thousand in singles and the rest in fives.” (by Mel Tannenbaum)
Once again, there were very few captions submitted for this contest, and the pickings were indeed slim. I hope this is not a harbinger of the future. Where are all the Captioneers? Where are all the funny captions? As my fourth-grade teacher always used to tell me, “You are not working up to your full potential.”
Nevertheless, rest assured that Contest No. 156 will be posted shortly.

when I first attempted to caption it… I drew a blank. Captions
didn’t flow to mind, immediately, as with past cartoons … and
then, I wasn’t satisfied with my results. However, I do enjoy a
challenge! Diane’s – “running out of money…,” did bring a
chuckle to me, as I read it – NEVER thought of that angle!”

Unfortunately, you sent these four captions to the wrong posting, and I am not able to move them to the posting for Contest No. 156, where they should be.
Please re-submit your four entries (and any future captions) to my posting that announces each contest — in this case to the posting headed “Eli’s Cartoon Caption Contest No. 156”. That’s the only way I’ll be able to show them or judge them.
Thanks.
