Winner of Eli’s Cartoon Caption Contest No. 108

“I haven’t gotten to an ATM since we met this morning . . . “

                                         (by Brendan Powers)

My original caption: “I already gave at the corner of Ninth and Main.”

Wow, a sixth victory for you, Brendan Powers — you have really been on a hot streak lately. Once again you can command the title of “one of the funniest people around”. Congratulations!

Lots of good captions to choose from. These are the others that were under serious consideration:

“Cash is so old-fashioned. Do you take Bitcoin?” (by John Platt)

“I’m broke as you! This is my Halloween costume.” (by Harvey Appelbaum)

“Sorry. You’re too late. My wife already robbed me. ” (by Jeff Groth)

“Apparently you have not heard about Bitcoin.” (by Marc)

“But, I gave at the office.” (by Marvin Sager)

“First come, first served.” (another one by Brendan Powers)

“Sorry, I’m a retired teacher.” (by Tim Collins)

“Well, there’s your proof that crime doesn’t pay.” (by Cary Antebi)

A word of advice to all captioneers: please be aware of who is doing the talking in the contest drawings, and make sure your caption is written accordingly. A caption that comes out of the mouth of a non-speaker would automatically have to be out of consideration.

The drawing for the next contest will be posted, as usual, in a couple of weeks.
