This cartoon was definitely published in the WSJ in 1985. I clipped it out and had it up on my office door for many years.
Thanks, Mark, for taking the time to let me know about this. As I said, all I know is that the WSJ paid for the cartoon in 1985, but all my research didn’t uncover it in print. Of course I could have somehow missed it, in which case it would definitely be my bad.
