Winner of Eli’s Cartoon Caption Contest No. 92

“I’m impartial. The back of my jacket says to ‘Vote Row A’.”

                                         (by Howard Garrett)

My original caption: “I’ve just about had it with this election!”

Wow, congratulations, Howard Garrett! Two consecutive wins and seven total wins. I guess I don’t have to tell you that you are definitely one of the funniest people around.

Obviously, my own original caption was a total nonentity. I probably would have had a better chance of selling this gag if I had kept it captionless. Here are two of the other captions I put on the cartoon over the years, as I kept re-drawing and re-submitting it, unsuccessfully, to various publications: “Is it election time already?” (I kinda like that particular caption right now), and “I’m really beginning to HATE election time!”

Getting back to your submissions, here are the other captions that I was considering for top honors:

“Happens every time I forget to wear my ‘Post No Bills’ tie.” (by Cary Antebi)

“My support for Row B has begun to waver.” (by John Platt)

“I’m glad the worker didn’t attach BUS STOP on my head.” (also by Howard Garrett)

“Starting tomorrow morning until Election Day, I’m gonna start reading the newspaper just like you.” (by Arnie & Evan)

Good work, everyone. Contest No. 93 should start in a couple of weeks, so be on the lookout for it.
