Winner of Eli’s Cartoon Caption Contest No. 88

“Perhaps we SHOULD keep the safe locked when the cleaning crew is here.”

                                            (by Bruce Morgenstern)

My original caption: “Then . . . then my loan is approved?”

Congratulations, Bruce Morgenstern, on your very first win! You have now joined that elite group — you are officially one of the funniest people around.

As for my original caption, which is over sixty years old, I still kind of like it. Too bad I never re-drew it in all those years — I’m sure it would have sold somewhere.

Here are the other captions I was considering for First Prize:

“That’s not the kind of raise I had in mind.” (by Andrew Bramley)

“One man’s trash is another man’s cash!” (by Melissa)

“I assume the ATM machine is down again.” (by Cary Antebi)

“I am attracting money into my life . . . I am attracting money into my life . . . I am attracting money into my life . . . hey, this Law of Attraction stuff works!” (by Sharon)

“Sorry — I know you’re trying to impress me. But it’s Monopoly money.” (by Howard Garrett)

Thanks for your captions. The next contest will be up in a couple of weeks or so.
