Winner of Eli’s Cartoon Caption Contest No. 85
“He says he needs more underwear and money.”
(by Andrew Bramley)
My original caption: “This must be one of those computer-generated letters: “Dear Mr. and Mrs. King . . . ‘ “
Nice going, Andrew Bramley! This is your second win — the first one was in Contest No. 61, about a year and a half ago. Once again, you have proved to be one of the funniest people around. Congratulations!
There were loads of “Honorable Mentions” this time. Either you people are getting better or I’ve got to raise my standards. A few of the captions came pretty darn close to my original caption, and two entries were spot on with current events (Cary Antebi’s “Lady Lancelot” and Gary’s “Game of Thrones”).
Here are all the “Honorables’:
“It says we have to send a crown jewel to ten different people.” (by Brad Labanowitz)
“Dear Your Majesty or current resident . . . ” (also by Brad Labanowitz)
“It’s a huge water bill for the moat.” (by Cary Antebi)
“We are being sued by Burger King. They claim your name King Burger is too close to theirs.” (by Howard Garrett)
“It’s from Sir Lancelot. He says, ‘Henceforth, I would prefer to be known as Lady Lancelot.’ ” (also by Cary Antebi)
“Hamlet wishes to know if he should be or not be home for the holidays.” (by Kelasher)
“Wow, what an honor! You just got invited to be the next character killed on Game of Thrones.” (by Gary)
Nice work! Contest No. 86 should be up in a couple of weeks.
