“What was your name again?”
(by John Platt)
My original caption: “What was your name again?”
Yep, that’s correct — John Platt nailed my original caption, right down to the crossed “t” and the dotted “i”. It’s uncanny . . . either that, or the caption was so obvious that it was everybody’s first thought and John “Speedy” Platt got it in before anyone else could. Ken Wilkinson’s caption, the second one submitted, was essentially the same gag. Ken submitted his caption before I had posted John’s caption, by the way, so there was no “plagiarism” involved in any way.
Congrats once again, John Platt. This is your tenth win — you are truly one of the funniest people around!
There weren’t too many captions submitted this time around, and that surprised me. I thought that this drawing would get much more action than it did. I guess John’s “perfect” caption discouranged many of you from submitting.
Please remember that matching my original caption is not the point of this contest. The point is to create the funniest caption. That being said, these are the only other captions that I was mulling over for the top prize:
“Ah that reminds me, what is your name?” (by ken wilkinson)
“It’s Lavern, right?” (by Cary Antebi)
“Ah yes — when we get back to the office, would you mind ordering a birthday gift for my wife?” (by Levi)
A new contest will be coming up in a couple of weeks. What say we all get our minds out of the gutter and clean up our act for the next one, okay?

Yay! Maybe it was a bit
Yay! Maybe it was a bit “obvious,” but it was still funny. I like Levi’s, too.
