It’s a three-way tie!
“Each of you go to your corner and may the best man or woman win.”
(by Howard Garrett)
“Let’s have a clean fight. Touch hands and go back to your corners.”
(by Arlene Grand)
“Let’s get reaaady to rumble!”
(by Cary Antebi)
My original caption: “All right, you two know the rules. If there’s a knockdown, go to the nearest neutral corner . . . “
Congrats to the three winners:
Howard Garrett — your fourth win!
Arlene Grand — welcome — your first win, on what I believe is your very first attempt!
Cary Antebi — your nineteenth . . . yes, nineteenth . . . win!
No doubt about it — you are three of the funniest people around.
The winning captions pretty well mirrored my original caption, just in different words. That’s not always the formula for success in this contest, but in this case, it worked.
There were only two other captions that I was seriously considering for top honors:
“Does it really matter so much if the toilet seat is left up or down?” (also by Cary Antebi)
“Look, I don’t care who reads me ‘THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS’.” (by Cindy Buitron)
Be on the lookout for Contest No. 78 — it’ll be coming up soon.
