Winner of Eli’s Cartoon Caption Contest No. 68

                          “I’m getting ready for the yearly family visit . . . “

                                                 (by Shelly Lapa)

My original caption: “And mother, as soon as he walks in the front door, we start fighting.”

Wow, Shelly Lapa, you did it on your first try! Nice going . . . and congratulations. You are now officially one of the funniest people around!

Lots of fighting words in the captions submitted (and in my original caption, too). Picking a winner was kind of difficult because many of them had really funny thoughts and germs of interesting ideas. The following three captions got the most serious consideration for top honors, though:

“Gotta get off the phone, Phil’s home. I can hear him shouting, ‘Get reaaaady to rumble’.” (by Cary Antebi)

“We never not fight any more.” (by John Platt)

“If he brings home the ring girl I’m leaving.” (also by John Platt)

The next contest will be posted shortly — keep jabbing away!
