Winner of Eli’s Cartoon Caption Contest No. 67

“Good news! The Juvenile Correctional Facility has a great art program!”

                                                     (by Caryn)

My original caption: “Sorry to keep you waiting. I understand you’re thinking of a career in the graphic arts.”

Nice going, Caryn — congratulations on your fifth win. Once again you have earned the right to be hailed as one of the funniest people around!

These are two other captions that I was seriously considering for top honors:

“You want to be an artist? Trust me, kid, I’ve seen your work and I’m not impressed.” (by John Platt)

“Sorry I’m late but there’s some idiot going around spraying ‘Zap’ on everything in his path.” (by Cary Antebi)

And, one little aside to Kelasher about her caption, “So, Calvin, do you feel you’ve made some improvement?”  I’m worried that I may be missing something here. Is Calvin just a name you picked at random, or does it obliquely refer to someone significant in the graphics world? The only person of note that I could come up with is fashion designer Calvin Klein, but I don’t think he started out as a graffiti artist . . . or did he? Just askin’.

Keep on the lookout for the next contest, coming up soon.
