    That reminds me of something I said in our “training” sessions for the new scripted curriculum our district adopted after the No Child Left Behind Act. Basically, we were told to give each kid a textbook and then read the teacher script exactly as written. “What do you need me for?” I asked. “Why not just videotape someone reading the text and I’ll stay home?” I resigned not long after that.
